We took a close look at barrier beaches, vernal pools, salt marshes, and tide pools. Marion Village Stroll248 viewsCars lined several Marion streets as residents gathered for the town’s Christmas Stroll on December 12. Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Vegan248 viewsTo vegan or not to vegan? That was the question taste testers answered when the Mattapoisett Library hosted another chapter of their sustainable initiative programming on February 26. Library Director Jennifer Jones prepared and served vegan substitutes of chicken, hot dogs, sausage, and lunchmeat. The participants nibbled each offering with great anticipation. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 247 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School.
