Cardboard Boat Race 365 viewsORRJHS held the 6th annual Cardboard Boat Race on June 15 during S.C.O.P.E. week for 7th grade students. S.C.O.P.E. – Student Centered Opportunities for Personal Enrichment – is a week-long program that offers activities that challenge students while having fun! In addition to the cardboard boat race at the Mattapoisett YMCA, the week was filled with trips, tours, and activities, such as team building and the ropes course at the Dartmouth YMCA, a visit to Historic Faneuil Hall. Lions Club Triathlon365 viewsUnder merciful overcast skies on July 15, the 37th annual Lions Club Triathlon found 115 participants including seven relay teams vying for first place bragging rights. Coming in 1st place in the men’s division was Brian Hughes with a time of 51:38 minutes. Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk365 viewsDespite a downpour perfectly timed for its planned gathering on Friday off Point Road in Marion, the Sippican Lands Trust celebrated the completion of the new Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk. Executive Director Jim Bride and president Alan Harris held a live Zoom meeting for those who could not attend, and some of the donors for the project assisted in the ribbon-cutting.
