Marion 4th of July Parade373 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F

Marion Natural History Museum373 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Explorations summer nature program had a wonderful time last week exploring a diverse selection of natural areas. We investigated marshes, bogs, vernal pools, and upland forest habitats and the plants and animals that call these areas home. The museum would like to thank the Marion Harbormaster's office for allowing us access to Bird Island to take a look at some of our more rare and endangered birds and their nesting habitat. Festival of Trees 373 viewsThe Festival of Trees opened on November 27 with a reception at the Cushing Community Center on Route 6 in Marion. Sponsored by the Friends of Marion Council on Aging, the event showcased 14 decorated Christmas trees, along with an artisan sale, music, refreshments and a raffle for over 10 gift baskets.
