Kevin Tavares, associate principal, challenged the kids to raise 481 canned goods to top Mr. T’s 480 – they collected over 800 instead! Marion Village 5K270 viewsThe Marion Village 5K is in its 19th year, and over 250 participants turned out to run the 3.1-mile course along the waterfront and through the quaint Marion village. Human Geometry270 viewsAudiences enjoyed the first of two fall drama productions at Tabor Academy last week. Drama teacher Mark Howland wrote and directed “Human Geometry,” which focused on how mathematical concepts can be used to understand human relationships. Audiences can look forward to another fall production, “Bang Bang You’re Dead,” opening Thursday, November 12, at 7:30 pm at the Will Parker Black Box Theatre. First Congregational Church of Rochester270 viewsThe bell of the First Congregational Church of Rochester rang above the center of Rochester for the last time this morning, November 20, before it was lowered from the church’s belfry via crane to the ground, the final step of the renovation on the church. The historic bell, created in 1892 by an apprentice of Paul Revere III, grandson to our famous bell maker Paul Revere, will be refurbished and put in storage for some time before it is returned to the church. Hundreds attended and greeted jolly old Saint Nick as he rode in on the town’s new yellow fire tower truck. Twelfth Night270 viewsThe talented students at Rochester Memorial School presented their annual tribute to the Bard on Friday, April 29 as they performed Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” RMS teacher Danni Kleiman has been adapting the scripts and directing the RMS Shakespeare plays for 27 years now. Kleiman explained the selection process for the annual Shakespearian play, saying, “I look at the talent that I have from the previous year,” says Kleiman. “I also look at the talent in the 5th grade and pick the play accordingly.” Kle

Kids Equipment Fun Day270 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat.
