Woman’s Club Walks346 viewsThe Mattapoisett Woman’s Club has begun a “Woman’s Club Walks” every Monday at 8:00 am. Members wishing to walk several miles at a different location each week can look up the location of the walk at mattapoisettwomansclub.org. Members, guests, and people interested in joining the Woman’s Club can look up the location and meet each week. All participants will wear masks and keep appropriate social distancing. The walk on August 24 will take place on the Munn Property of the Mattapoisett Land Trust.

RBG346 viewsRegina McIntyre of Angelica Avenue in Mattapoisett erected a small but poignant memorial outside her home to honor Ruth Bader Ginsburg following the Supreme Court Justice’s passing. “I couldn’t travel to Washington, so I decided to place this memorial here to remember her work on behalf of both women and men,” adding: “She was such an example, (a) role model.” It was a family affair as McIntyre’s sister dressed the Ginsburg doll in a hand-sewn robe complete with seed pearl collar and red shoes.

We investigated marshes, bogs, vernal pools, and upland forest habitats and the plants and animals that call these areas home. Sippican Elementary Car Wash346 viewsSippican Elementary sixth graders turned Saturday's car wash into a fire engine wash, creating a waterfall of suds and having the kind of fun kids normally associate with what happens on the weekends before school is back in session. Organized by Volunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE), the school's 501(c)(3) non-profit parent-teacher organization, the event held at the Marion school's bus loop off Main Street raised money for the students' mountain classroom trip, a three-day excursion planned for June 20
