Osprey Rescue383 viewsThe Osprey who was impaled by fishing hooks and left dangling from a power line has been released. Several weeks ago, an adult Osprey was found dangling from a power line in Mattapoisett. He was 20 feet up and had one end of a fishing lure through his foot and the other end lodged deep into his left pectoral muscle. The entanglement caused him to become stuck upside down on the line and he was left struggling to free himself. After a significant rescue effort, he was brought to our hospital for treatment.

Marion Natural History Museum383 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted a Nature Journaling program on October 3 with artist Tricia Cassidy. We enjoyed beautiful weather while hearing about a variety of strategies to allow everyone, even the most insecure participants, to be able to express the beauty of the natural environment on paper. We enjoyed several loosening-up exercises by playing with time constraints, not looking at the paper while drawing the subject, and framing our subject so as not to get too confused with the big picture.
