ORR Debate Team352 viewsThe Old Rochester Regional Debate Team has just concluded a successful season. Twenty-five students from ORR were included in the 300 students in the Eastern Massachusetts Debate League from 15 schools from around Massachusetts.

Marion Natural History Museum352 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after-school group had a wonderful time learning about the Eastern Box Turtle with Brian Butler of Oxbow Associates, Inc. Brian explained why land turtles are rounder than turtles that live in water, and that turtles have been on earth for 200 million years. Box turtles protect themselves by pulling their heads and legs into their shell and closing up, however they don't move very fast.

Marion Water352 viewsAs the Boil Water Order remained in effect for the Town of Marion through a second weekend, fresh water was made available to residents on October 16. All hands were on deck as members of the Select Board, Fire Department, Police Department, and DPW assisted. Select Board Chair Norm Hills said that 1,000 cases of water would be distributed throughout the day at the Cushing Community Center. Each household with proof of residency received one case of bottled water.

Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit!
