The Princess and the Pea352 viewsOpening tonight, Thursday, March 17, the ORR Junior High School Drama Club presents “The Princess and the Pea,” starting at 7:00 pm in the ORRJHS auditorium. This is the second year the recently reconstituted drama club has presented a fairy tale-themed performance at the junior high, and the show features a cast of 33 with singing and dancing coordinated by a group of volunteer parents. Tour de Crème352 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust in tandem with the Mattapoisett Bike Path Committee held its first Tour de Crème on Sunday, May 22. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. Band Blast352 viewsThe masses swarmed to the front lawn of Sippican School to attend the 15th Annual Band Blast fundraiser for the schools music programs. Dollars raised pay for Music Festival fees and transportation, equipment purchase, repair and replacement, reed purchase and scholarship funds. Harbor Days 352 viewsHarbor Days came to Mattapoisett this past weekend, and many visitors were gracious enough to spin The Wanderer Wheel for a $1 donation to the Lions Club. Those who played helped raise an extra $523 the Lions Club will use to benefit the community. In a modern twist to the Carroll classic, watch as a 21st century Alice, played by Bess Pierre and Alexandria Strand, preoccupies herself over status updates, cell phone service, WI-FI availability, and even her own existence, as she heads down the rabbit hole and mingles with the slightly sarcastic versions of the classic characters we know and love.
