Rochester Fire307 viewsJust before 11:00 am on April 2, the Rochester Fire Department was called out to a structure fire on Vaughan Hill Road in Rochester, with initial responders calling for assistance from the Mattapoisett and Marion Fire Departments and a tanker from Rochester. The house was located on a farm about 1,000 feet from the road down a long dirt driveway, which created a problem for supplying water to the scene.

Rockets307 viewsThis past Wednesday and Thursday the Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool groups constructed their own rockets. During lift off some went incredible distances, one ending up on a roof and at least one in a tree. The kids and the parents all had a great time. The Museum wishes to thank Mike and Alex Cronin of "Design Principles" for volunteering to help us construct and lift off the rockets, and all the many parents who stuck around to help with the construction and clean up afterward.
