Extreme Engineering312 viewsOn Tuesday, July 31, dozens of curious students gathered at the Mattapoisett Library to join Dr. Martin Hudis in his Extreme Engineering program. The students participated in a variety of different exercises using remote controlled helicopters in a hands-on approach to learn valuable lessons in math and science. Veteran’s Day 312 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience. Holiday Tour312 viewsThe Mattapoisett Historical Society and Carriage House opened its doors for the holiday season on Saturday, November 24. The Historical Society is having its annual holiday shop, which features a variety of unique gifts such as historical postcard and map recreations, books, and tree ornaments. Mattapoisett Lions Club312 viewsDespite cool raining weather members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club joined together on Saturday April 20th to repair the shade shed at Ned’s Point, including a new roof. The following Saturday the members repaired the shade shed at the town beach. Both shade shed were originally built by the members of the Lions Club.
