Hunger Walkers638 viewsTeens from Old Rochester Regional High School recently participated in Project Bread’s 30th annual Walk for Hunger. Some 43,000 walkers took part in the event that raised a record-breaking $3.3 million. The funds are used to feed hungry people at food pantries, soup kitchens, food banks, and food salvage programs across the state.

Here teacher Diane Cook directs student Alexei Sudofsky after voting while students Alissya Silva and Ayana Hartley line up behind to cast their own ballots. The Democratic ticket of Obama/Biden won with a majority 56 percent of the vote (239), while the Republican ticket of McCain/Palin garnered only 42 percent (180 votes).

Early Thanksgiving638 viewsStudent Jessie Hodges was part of the group of student volunteers at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School that served an early Thanksgiving dinner, replete with turkey and all the fixings, on Sunday, November 23 to senior citizens of Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester. The annual Tri-Town Seniors Thanksgiving pre-holiday event was held inside the ORR Cafeteria and featured a fine meal, raffle and door prizes, and a chance to enjoy the fellowship of young and old alike.
