Classic Cars322 viewsClassic car enthusiasts from the area gathered Monday nights throughout the summer, riding up in their shiny antique cars and pulling up a lawn chair to sit back and reminisce about the good old days to the sounds of music from the ‘50s and ‘60s. October 12 will be the final classic car show of the year at Plumb Corner, and the biggest. There will be food, a DJ, vendors, and trophies for the top 50 car entries. Photo by Jean Perry

Sippican School Garden Club322 viewsMembers of the Sippican School Garden Club have been busy this harvest season caring for their vegetables, herbs, and flowers after school. On September 23 it took ten enthusiastic little gardeners to pull up a ten-foot tall sunflower and carry it to “Weed Mountain.” After, the kids collected greens, grasses, and flowers to make an arrangement for the main office. Take a Hike!322 viewsThis latest installment of Take a Hike! brought me to the spooky woods at the New Bedford Waterworks. It wasn’t my favorite hike, but like my friend always says, “It is what it is.” Check it out and email us at news@wanderer.com to tell us what you think. Photos by Jean Perry

Marion Natural History Museum322 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group enjoyed a wonderful program about sea turtles of Buzzards Bay last Wednesday. During the program the students had a chance to view videos of hatchling turtles, learn a little about sea turtle biology, and handle some live terrapins. We wish to thank Don Lewis and Sue Weber Nourse for providing this exciting program. Photos courtesy Turtle Journal.
