Gaga Pit at Center School387 viewsPaul McLaughlin of Mattapoisett Troop 53 has completed his Eagle Scout Project – a Gaga Pit at Center School. McLaughlin, a freshman at Old Colony, wanted to build the Gaga pit where everyone could access to enjoy a game of Gaga ball. The game is played inside the octagon pit with a soft ball. The ball is hit with the hand at opponents within the Gaga pit below the knees to get them ‘out’. The full set of rules can be found on a plaque hung within the pit, which is there for all to enjoy

Grandparent's Day386 viewsIt was a perfect autumn day for the SouthCoast Senior Resource Alliance Grandparents’ Day at Hiller Farm in Rochester on September 19. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Most importantly, the free event provided information to seniors on health services available in the SouthCoast area. Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley

A Little Snow386 viewsA February 10, 2010 nor’easter was less dramatic than forecasters predicted. Snowfall totals were lower than expected, but the wind still brought isolated power outages to areas in the Tri-Town. Many are hoping that spring is right around the corner… Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley.
