Car Show Dreams415 views108 cars attended the “A Wish Come True” car show on October 11, 2009 at Rochester’s Plumb Corner. Each vehicle owner paid to attend the show, and the proceeds went to the organization, which works to grant wishes to children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. Antiques in Rochester415 viewsA teddy bear won at a carnival by Nancy Boutin's father for her mother in the early 1940's was appraised by Frank McNamee for $50 to $75. Christmas Holiday Shop415 viewsSt. Anthony’s and St. Rita’s parishioners combined efforts to give the community a Christmas Holiday Shop and Celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The basement of St. Anthony’s church was decked out in snowflakes, wreaths, bells, bows, and a Santa sleigh. Santa listened patiently as children told him what they wanted for Christmas. Valentine Tea415 viewsThe Marion Art Center hosted an American Girl themed Valentine Tea Party on February 6, 2010. Over 20 girls dressed in their pink and red finest enjoyed dainty finger foods, festive cupcakes, red fruit punch, and tea. Helping Hands and Hooves415 viewsHelping Hands and Hooves, a Mattapoisett-based non-profit organization in the area of Aucoot Cove, gives horseback riding lessons to disabled people in the Southcoast region. Rochester Country Fair415 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.
