FORM Concert 418 viewsThe tri-town FORM concert brought together students whose combined musicality entertained a full house. The performers sang song style selections from spiritual to jazz and the crowd pleaser “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Rochester Memorial School. Combining the voices of nearly 300 students the finale was a soulful treatment of “Wade In The Water”. Funds raised through FORM concerts support scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors who have completed at least two full years in a school music program.

South Coast Bikeways418 viewsThere is a vision in the South Coast for a 50-mile cohesive bike path system that will run from Rhode Island to Cape Cod. On March 27 at the South Coast Bikeway Summit, South Coast Bikeway Alliance Member and Fairhaven Selectman Bob Espindola, and President and Coordinator Julianne Kelly, welcomed a full house at the Fort Tabor Community Center in New Bedford to discuss biking.

On April 12, families gathered at Ned’s Point to celebrate Easter early with a traditional Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Mattapoisett Lions Club. The Easter Bunny hopped over for a visit, giving children hugs and high-fives as parents scurried to take photos and comfort the smaller ones who were a little reluctant to approach. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 418 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. VASE member Diana Martin organized the event, with the support of about 12 volunteers who assisted that morning in making sure the two races went off without a hitch. Photo by Felix Perez
