Nativity Preparatory School333 viewsOn Monday, September 19, the Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament fundraiser to benefit the Nativity Preparatory School of New Bedford was held at the Bay Club in Mattapoisett. Larry Oliveira, a trustee of the board and co-chair of the event, is pleased to announce that in spite of rain that day, the benefit netted $71,000 for the school. Tennis players competed indoors at the Marion Tennis Center and many golfers and tennis players attended the dinner and auction.

Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion333 viewsRetired firemen gathered to celebrate the first Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion on October 16 at Ned’s Point. Former members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department along with several others from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Marion and current members of the department enjoyed the splendid fall afternoon while reliving past events in careers that spanned decades. On hand to greet the men and women as they arrived was retired Chief Ron Scott, who spent 42 years on the Mattapoisett Fire Department.
