Barbies394 viewsMany neighbors and friends have been asking about the Barbies. Due to virus concerns, we made a conscious decision not to create the display this year since it draws so many visitors of all ages to congregate near our gate. Instead, the Barbies are observing social-distancing guidelines with masks on, as this photo taken on July 4 illustrates. We hope that the full crew will be out next year.

Chief Garcia Retires394 viewsAt 2:06 pm on Friday, December 11, Marion Chief of Police John Garcia signed off to radio dispatch, ending his shift and a law enforcement career that spanned three and a half decades. The Town of Marion recognized his retirement with a drive-thru sendoff outside the Cushman Community Center. We took a close look at barrier beaches, vernal pools, salt marshes, and tide pools. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Annual Tree Sale393 viewsA Decorating Committee from the Sippican Womans Club produced over 50 festive trees for the Tree Spree, which started in Handys Tavern. The tavern was decked out with themed trees, including a Barbie tree, a Hannukah tree, a Mallard duck tree, and even a tree decorated with recycled items like bottles and plastic bags.
