ORR Homecoming Pep Rally396 viewsFriday, October 20, was the annual Homecoming pep rally at Old Rochester Regional High School. Principal Mike Devoll said it best: “This has been the best Homecoming week ever, and this will be the best Homecoming ever!” Devoll was right on all accounts – whether it was skits or sports. Salty's Hat396 viewsEarly this past Friday, December 1, as folks were rushing to work and children settling into school, an annual tradition transpired in Mattapoisett at the corner of Route 6 and North Street. With the placement of the Santa hat upon the head of our beloved Salty the Seahorse, the holiday season officially began. As they do every year, the folks at Brownell Systems assisted the Mattapoisett Land Trust in the placement of the hat via a tall crane. Photo by Paul Lopes

Marion Holiday Stroll396 views It was all about Santa on December 10 for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll, although at first the Grinch stole the show (but not Christmas) until Santa made his big arrival at Town Wharf to the chanting of his name, stealing back from the Grinch his rightful place as the center of attention. Marion Natural History Museum396 viewsOn Wednesday, the Marion Natural History Museum's after school group had a great time constructing their own rockets. We added fins, nose cones, parachutes to the main body of the rockets, and then added protective wadding to prevent the rocket from exploding. We then headed outside to launch our creations. Every one of the rockets had a successful launch, thanks to the help and expertise of our many volunteers. The museum wishes to thank Mike Cronin, Jake Cronin, Matt Alves, David Dodge, the Tabor Academy

Stayin’ Alive 396 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong. Some, like Survival leader Kevin “KT the Kilt Man” Thompson, have attended Survival since they were 7th-graders 30 years ago. Photos by Jean Perry
