Happy Days at Harbor Days 398 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going. Cat Tails and Cocktails 398 viewsIt’s All About the Animals last Thursday held an invitation-only cocktail party to celebrate the opening of its new addition and “catio” (cats + screened-in patio= catio). The addition was dedicated to contractor Matthew Sherman, who passed away before completion of the project. Rescue cats now enjoy more space and an outdoor catio while they pass the time before finding a forever home. Photos by Jean Perry

“Noices Off!”398 viewsWhat do you mean the cover looks a little ‘off’ this week? It is! It’s ‘off’ as in “Noices Off!” What else should we do when we got one great production and two – yes, two – fabulous casts! Noises Off! premieres Thursday night at 7:30 pm, with a Friday and Saturday night show, plus a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm. Photo by Felix Perez

Turkey Trot 5K 398 viewsSunday was the morning of the annual Turkey Trot 5K in the center of Marion. Yes, it was rainy and windy, but the 80 turkeys (we mean participants) that showed up anyway still enjoyed the scenic village trot. Photos by Glenn C. Silva

Freezin’ for a Reason398 viewsJanuary 1 found locals Freezin’ for a Reason again at the annual polar plunge fundraiser to benefit those who are fighting cancer in our own community. At Mattapoisett Town Beach that morning, the air temperature was in the single digits and the water was a frigid 40 degrees. Photos by Glenn C. Silva
