Led by Tai Chi Practitioner Colman Fink, 15 locals moved gracefully together with conscious breath in the downstairs of the Mattapoisett Free Library – thanks to the rain that dampened the plan to meet at Ned’s Point for a second year in a row. Cottage Restored427 viewsA family has restored an old 1925 stone cottage on Snipatuit Pond in Rochester to its original state, and owner Andrea King gave a presentation on the restoration process to the Rochester Historical Society who got to see step by step how the King family, living in the U.S. Virgin Islands, brought the little cottage back to life to make it their second home. Deputy Chiefs William Scott, Charles Blanchette, and Scott Cowell were toasted (and roasted) by Marion Fire Chief Thomas Joyce before family and friends at the Marion VFW Saturday night. The wives of MacDougal and Blanchette, and the daughter of Cowell, attached new deputy chief badges on the three gentlemen during the pinning ceremony, and the three selectmen honored the retiring chiefs with gifts.
