Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Hillbilly Hoedown429 viewsA Hillbilly Dinner Dance was held at Redman Hall in Wareham on Saturday, February 27, 2010 to benefit the 11th annual Rochester Country Fair. After dinner, Twinkies were provided for dessert and The Relics provided music. RMS Auction429 viewsRochester went Hollywood on Friday, March 26, 2010 when the Rochester Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted a live auction with a Hollywood theme. The auction raised nearly $6,000, and that money will be used to pay for new playground equipment. Life of a Dog429 views“Clark Davis And Her Dogs” is the theme of the Marion Art Center's Fourth of July float, which will be in the Marion parade on July 5. Cecil Clark Davis (1877-1955), an animal lover, was one of Marion's most famous artist residents and is remembered for her elegant portraits. In the spirit of Cecil and her dogs, the Marion Art Center invites dog owners to participate in their festive float for the "WestMarionster Dog Show." The parade route is about two miles. Tropical Storm Earl429 viewsBoth Mattapoisett and Marion docks were busy spots last week when the National Weather Service issued a Hurricane Warning to the region. Plymouth county, in addition to Cape Cod, the Islands, and Bristol county, prepared for Hurricane Earl, a category 3 hurricane that stood the potential to make landfall in southeastern Massachusetts.
