Police Dedication404 viewsThe public was invited to a building dedication and ceremony for the new Marion police station on July 10, 2010. The town appropriated $3.8 million for the new building, which replaces the old police station on Spring Street. Among those in attendance were Police Chief Lincoln Miller, the Marion police department, the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator Paul Dawson, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald and members of the Police Station Building Committee. 2011 Triathlon404 views240 athletes kicked off the Harbor Days week on July 10, 2011 with the Mattapoisett Lions’ Triathlon, which started from Mattapoisett Town Beach and included a .25-mile swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. The men’s winner for the Triathlon was Keith Putnam or Marston Mills, MA with a time of 52:52, and the women’s winner was Katie McCully of Eastham, MA with a time of 58:51. Photo by Anne Kakley.

Tree Sales404 views'Tis the season, once more! On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 26, 2011, locals stopped by the Rochester Women's Clubhouse to pick up their fresh wreaths and trees. The proceeds from the sale helped the Rochester Women's Club purchase a new roof for their Clubhouse. The tree and wreath sale will continue on the weekends of December 3 and 4 and December 10 and 11 from noon to 2:00 pm.
