Marion Natural History Museum347 viewsMany thanks to state-certified forester Phil Benjamin, Brian Butler of Oxbow Associates, and Gary Johnson of the Mattapoisett Land Trust, for donating their time and expertise to introduce the Old Hammondtown School sixth grade to the several of the unique ecosystems in Nasketucket State Park. Phil led a walk through the upland forests along the "Holly Trail", Brian led a walk along the intertidal shoreline, and Gary introduced the students to a vernal pool.

There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall. Lost Ladybug Project347 viewsGuided by Loree Griffin Burns, children headed out on May 30 from Plumb Library to search for ladybugs to photograph and document for the Lost Ladybug Project. In all, the kids found five ladybugs. The event was funded by a MOBY grant and organized by the RMS PTOs, the RLT, Kathy Gauvin at ORR, and the three town Cultural Councils.
