The fundraising event is a familiar, welcome event every summer in Marion, and it has something to offer everyone. Brad Barrows Ride429 viewsThe annual Brad Barrows Ride took place on Saturday, September 19, with around 60 to 70 participants riding on roughly 40 motorcycles. The fundraiser proceeds go to fund local youth sports, a cause that was dear to the late Barrows’ heart. Barrows was the owner of the bad “Brad’s” in Mattapoisett until his death in 2007. We found many types of fish, including Puffer fish, Tautogs, and other animals such as Mantis shrimp, and all sorts of crabs. It was a great way to celebrate one of the last days of summer. Hot to Trot429 viewsThe third annual “Hot to Trot” dog walk hosted by the Sippican Lands Trust brought about 20 dogs and at least twice as many humans out for a post-Thanksgiving walk at the SLT’s White Eagle property in Marion on November 29. Ice Sculpture at the Marion Art Center429 viewsIn front of the Marion Art Center, Tim Wade carved out an ice sculpture of a train on December 13, an unseasonably warm December day.
