Hook's Head 349 viewsHook's Head is in County Wexford, Ireland. As the oldest, intact, functional lighthouse in the world, it was constructed in 1172 by Knight William Marshall. There are 115 stairs to the top of the tower which is constructed of local limestone with walls measuring 4 meters thick. Christmas Day Plunge349 viewsAt 94, Bob Humphrey was the elder statesman participating in the Christmas Day plunge held at Mattapoisett Town Beach, which including 47 swimmers and raised $2,595 in donations for the benefit of Helping Hands & Hooves. While December 25 was unseasonably mild, the water temperature in the harbor was still chilly as the effort inspired camaraderie among participating friends and couples. Photos by Mick Colageo

Car Show Dreams348 views108 cars attended the “A Wish Come True” car show on October 11, 2009 at Rochester’s Plumb Corner. Each vehicle owner paid to attend the show, and the proceeds went to the organization, which works to grant wishes to children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. All over Marion, there were people in day-glo vests working with “Manducas”, long pincers made by Marion resident Eunice Manduca for picking up trash.
