New Year’s Eve Party431 viewsA New Year’s Eve party at the Rochester Senior Center gave area seniors the chance to ring in the New Year early in the company of friends. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly. Vernal Pools431 viewsGary Johnson of the Mattapoisett Land Trust led about a dozen on an excursion to the vernal pool at the Woodcock Preserve off Long Plain Road on Saturday, April 16, where they spotted the egg masses of the blue-spotted salamander, a species of ‘special concern,’ and the wood frog. Rochester Memorial Day431 viewsRochester fared far better with its Memorial Day celebration than Marion and Mattapoisett did with theirs on rainy Monday. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade.
