BLM Rochester432 viewsA “Black Lives Matter” protest march drew hundreds to Rochester late in the afternoon of June 12. Escorted by several Rochester policemen on foot, participants who had gathered in front of Town Hall marched down Dexter Lane to the police station, where several individuals spoke about racism and told stories of discrimination based on skin color. Hook's Head 432 viewsHook's Head is in County Wexford, Ireland. As the oldest, intact, functional lighthouse in the world, it was constructed in 1172 by Knight William Marshall. There are 115 stairs to the top of the tower which is constructed of local limestone with walls measuring 4 meters thick. Waterman Reunion431 viewsThe Third Annual Waterman School Reunion took place at the Rochester Memorial School on Saturday, September 12 attracting over 100 former students of the venerable elementary school. Waterman school, which was in the building that now houses the Rochester Fire Department, was the forerunner to RMS during the first half of the Twentieth Century. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Weekend Storm431 viewsSunday, Yucky Sunday. The Tri-Town received its share of rainy, windy weather after an off-shore gale created noreaster conditions for SouthCoast Massachusetts on October 18, 2009. Silvershell Beach and Point Road in Marion were hit with high winds and pelting rain. The area still fared better than other sections of the Commonwealth, which received some early snowfall.
