BLM Rochester434 viewsA “Black Lives Matter” protest march drew hundreds to Rochester late in the afternoon of June 12. Escorted by several Rochester policemen on foot, participants who had gathered in front of Town Hall marched down Dexter Lane to the police station, where several individuals spoke about racism and told stories of discrimination based on skin color. Waterman school, which was in the building that now houses the Rochester Fire Department, was the forerunner to RMS during the first half of the Twentieth Century. Friend's Garden433 viewsOn October 9, 2009, the garden at Friends Academy surpassed the 2000-pound of harvested vegetables benchmark, and then some. Harvesting a variety of greens plus sixteen pounds of carrots and eight pounds of winter squash, students bundled up 71.3 pounds of vegetables for their weekly delivery to the Food Pantry at Grace Episcopal Church.

The tavern was decked out with themed trees, including a Barbie tree, a Hannukah tree, a Mallard duck tree, and even a tree decorated with recycled items like bottles and plastic bags.
