Project Empty Bowls410 viewsThe Ceramics and Art I students at ORRHS created these one-of-a-kind bowls to serve up hot soup during the school’s first ever Project Empty Bowls fundraiser on November 29. The Empty Bowls Project is an international grassroots effort to raise funds and awareness of hunger. The shows start at 7:30 pm at Tabor’s Fireman Center for the Performing Arts in Hoyt Hall at 245 Front Street, Marion. Marion Fire Department 410 viewsSunday was a solemn day for the Tri-Town and its first responders as many gathered to honor Thomas Nye, 72, a 45-year veteran of the Marion Fire Department who died February 27 in the line of duty. Over 100 firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel from the Tri-Town and beyond marched together down Route 6 in Mattapoisett on March 3 to pay their respects to their fallen comrade who suffered a cardiac arrest at home after assisting in a fire call the night before.
