BAM is an organization that offers financial assistance to families battling cancer to help offset the unexpected costs of cancer treatment. Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32470 viewsThe Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32 recently took part in a Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Class at the Marion Fire Department that was arranged by Star Scout Chris Horton. Firefighters Mike Enright and Kevin Buckley taught a Friends and Family version of CPR class in two hours. The Scouts got hands on experience in what it takes to save a life and the dangers therein.

Cranberry Outing470 viewsPerfect weather brought out the young and the young at heart to the second annual cranberry harvest at “The Bogs” on Acushnet Road in Mattapoisett, a Buzzards Bay Coalition property. The retired bog acreage is slowly returning to meadows and woodlands. But for now cranberries continue to grow giving the do-it-yourself harvester a chance to enjoy nature’s bounty.
