National Night Out Against Crime471 viewsTuesday, August 2, was the annual National Night Out Against Crime on the school grounds of Old Rochester Regional. The Mattapoisett, Marion, and Rochester Police Departments were joined by the Tri-Town Fire and EMS Departments, Marion Harbormaster, and Marion Recreation. Rochester Country Fair 471 viewsThe Rochester Country Fair rolled into town on Thursday, August 18, filled the air with the sweet smells of Italian sausage and fried fair food, mixed with the smoke of diesel engines, and created that magical scent we all relish until the fair wrapped up on Sunday, August 21. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts. Annual Turkey Trot 5K 471 viewsThe Annual Turkey Trot 5K wound its way through Marion Village on Sunday, November 17, with 182 trotters (and some ‘turkeys’ as well) braving a chilling wind that morning to make it to the finish line. Organized by the Marion Recreation Department, the event every year draws quite a flock of runners to the start and finish line at Tabor Academy, raising funds for Marion Rec programs and events.
