Project Empty Bowls358 viewsThe Ceramics and Art I students at ORRHS created these one-of-a-kind bowls to serve up hot soup during the school’s first ever Project Empty Bowls fundraiser on November 29. The Empty Bowls Project is an international grassroots effort to raise funds and awareness of hunger. Marion Holiday Stroll358 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether.
