New Year Plunge473 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. Flamingos Around Town473 viewsHave you been driving around the Tri-Town noticing a greater prevalence of lawn flamingos? Don't be alarmed! The plastic lawn ornaments are the Old Rochester Regional High School Cheerleaders' latest and most creative fundraiser. For $25, residents can have a friend's house decorated, or "flocked" with lawn flamingos. All money collected through the flocking will be used to send the squad to Walt Disney World in February.
