Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional. Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 423 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000. Sippican School Garden Club423 viewsThe Sippican School Garden Club has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Whole Kids Foundation to fund installation of a greenhouse on the school campus. This grant was supplemented by a $2,000 matching contribution from the Marion Garden Group, $1,000 from a donated discretionary fund, and $500 from another anonymous donor to fully fund the project.

Marion Village 5K423 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50.
