Pinewood Derby367 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. Mattapoisett Lions Club367 viewsDespite cool raining weather members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club joined together on Saturday April 20th to repair the shade shed at Ned’s Point, including a new roof. The following Saturday the members repaired the shade shed at the town beach. Both shade shed were originally built by the members of the Lions Club.

Flag Day Ceremony 367 viewsRochester Memorial School 4th Grade held an all school Flag Day ceremony on June 14th honoring and thanking community first responders. Commencing this energy filled event was the raising of the flag to the National Anthem followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Acknowledgements to a fantastic show of local and state police, fire fighters, EMT’s, veterans and serving military heroes was presented through 4th grade students and famous poems, songs and personal thank yous.
