Frosty Runner Road Race446 viewsRunners who participated in the third annual Frosty Runner Road Race enjoyed spring-like weather, perfect for a 10 mile or 3 mile run through the neighborhoods of Rochester. The two separate races were run simultaneously, beginning and ending at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School on Saturday February 1. Taber Fall Lapsit Program446 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. 2015 Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge446 viewsThe 2015 Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge on New Year’s Day at Town Beach in Mattapoisett was a splashing success, according to event coordinator Michelle Huggins. The third annual polar plunge raised nearly $10,000 to provide financial assistance to local families battling cancer. Many participants donned costumes, competing for the best costume trophy.
