Marion Art Center Show481 viewsThe Marion Art Center unveiled its new show in a special opening reception at the gallery on Friday, January 11. The 2013 Winter Members Exhibition features over 60 works by about 30 local artists, some well-known and some new to the local art scene. This is the first of two bi-annual shows that showcase work by members of MAC, from oil paintings to multi-media. Check out some of the great art work being created by Tri-Town artists. The students saw the arrival of some of the first terns back to the island, along with a couple of Oystercatchers and their eggs. The President’s Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program in this country. It recognizes Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Winners receive the official President’s Volunteer Service Award pin.

Veteran's Day 2013481 viewsThe Tri-Town honored veterans on Monday with moving programs. In Marion, the parade included Cub Scout Pack 32, Master of Ceremonies Joe Napoli, and the Sippican School Band. In Mattpoisett, Daniel Mazzuca gave a speech that focused on what our country can do for veterans in need of jobs, housing, and mental health services.
