The ceremony began with a service at the Veteran�s monument in front of the library, and then a parade assembled and marched to the town wharf and to Cushing Cemetery. Relay for Life447 viewsOver 200 Tri-Town residents gathered to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the fifth annual Relay for Life. The Relay started at 5:00 pm on Friday June 11 and continued until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Participants walked the track at ORR throughout the night and into the next afternoon as a way to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their battle to cancer. Personalized luminaria bags lined the track, lighting the way for the participants throughout the night.

Amy Hartley-Matteson of Mattapoisett and Katherine Hartley of Rochester (2:11:14) won the women’s division for the third consecutive time – the second time they’ve three-peated. Sippican School Goes Wild447 viewsThe fourth-grade students at the Sippican School treated classmates and family members to a virtual zoo on the morning of June 5. Students chose an animal, did their own online research, created display boards, and donned costumes to bring their animals to life. The zoo continues on Friday, June 6 from 9:00-10:00 am.
