Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion483 viewsRetired firemen gathered to celebrate the first Mattapoisett Firemen’s Reunion on October 16 at Ned’s Point. Former members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department along with several others from Fairhaven, Rochester, and Marion and current members of the department enjoyed the splendid fall afternoon while reliving past events in careers that spanned decades. On hand to greet the men and women as they arrived was retired Chief Ron Scott, who spent 42 years on the Mattapoisett Fire Department.

Family Fun Festival 483 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club held its first Family Fun Festival at Shipyard Park on Saturday, October 29, featuring some good old-fashioned fun and games. Holiday in the Park483 viewsT’was the fortnight before Christmas and all through the park, every creature was stirring including Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, and Frosty the Snowman! This show celebrates the immense talent of the Sippican School students and will include several works from each grade level, representing various subjects and mediums.

We had the opportunity to see terns, geese, ducks, cormorants, and oystercatchers, as well as a trip to the top of the lighthouse. Cushing Community Center on August 12 with an Open House, welcoming the general public to view the results of a months-long renovation that converted the old VFW Post #2425 building into a center for seniors and all residents to enjoy.
