Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Rochester Scout474 viewsRochester Boy Scouts from Troop 31, Andrew Wronski and Austin O'Malley, took part in Wreaths Across America on December 14 at the National Cemetery in Bourne. Each year, thousands of wreaths are placed across military and veterans cemeteries to honor our America's fallen for the holidays. Rochester Troop 31 Scouts helped with this national effort to place 18,000 wreaths this year. The adorning of these graves pays tribute to the sacrifice the men and women of the armed forces pay to preserve our freedoms.

BLM Rochester474 viewsA “Black Lives Matter” protest march drew hundreds to Rochester late in the afternoon of June 12. Escorted by several Rochester policemen on foot, participants who had gathered in front of Town Hall marched down Dexter Lane to the police station, where several individuals spoke about racism and told stories of discrimination based on skin color. No-Shave November473 viewsCosmetology students at Old Colony gave five Rochester Police officers a shave and a haircut on November 30, marking the end of No-Shave November. The officers raised over $1,500 letting their facial hair grow out, a no-no for the rest of the year for the officers.
