Rochester Country Fair 436 viewsThe Rochester Country Fair rolled into town on Thursday, August 18, filled the air with the sweet smells of Italian sausage and fried fair food, mixed with the smoke of diesel engines, and created that magical scent we all relish until the fair wrapped up on Sunday, August 21. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts. Grand Opening435 viewsRochester pulled out all of the stops as the town dedicated the Dexter Lane Community Playground on Sunday, May 31. The three-hour long dedication ceremony and party included awards of recognition for the many volunteers who helped bring the project to life while offering plenty of food and entertainment to the residents of Rochester. Circus Time435 viewsThe Cole Brothers Circus made its annual visit to Rochester's Plumb Corner on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay. Proceeds from the circus will help to fund children's events throughout the year at Plumb Corner such as the Annual Easter egg hunt and the Halloween party. Photo by Robert Chiarito

Wearing only socks on his feet, Hall exited his Snipatuit Road home on April 15 and was greeted by PCH Prize Patroller Howie Guja who was holding a giant check for $50,000 with Hall’s name on it, roses, and a bottle of bubbly. Octopurr Fest435 viewsIt’s All About the Animals held its 5th annual Octopurr Fest on October 6. The fundraiser featured food, games, music, and craft booths. Owner and operator of the no-kill shelter, Pam Robinson, said 100 percent of all proceeds would go directly to the care of the felines.
