In the department’s 10th year walking, the participants raised $8,500, the largest amount raised to date as they symbolized the extra weight of living with Multiple Sclerosis. Rochester Rodeo157 viewsThe second of the bi-weekly rodeo was held at the Rochester Fair Grounds this past Saturday by New England Rodeo. Present were over 20 professional bull riders from New England, Latin America, and Brazil. There were also professional barrel riders and mounted shooters. There were some young cowboys and cowgirls who also gave it their best to stay on a bucking pony. Rochester Grange Fair 155 viewsThe Annual Rochester Grange Fair was held on August 20 for the 111th time! Grange members displayed their talents in a variety of categories ranging from vegetable growing, photography, baking, crocheting and floral arrangements. Awards were given to first, second and third-place winners as well as the Judges Awards. Boy Scout Troop 31 assisted Grange members, headed by Chairman Herbert LaFleur and Secretary Susan LaFleur. Nero’s Law155 viewsDenise Gannon speaks about Nero’s Law while husband Pat looks on during training held on Friday night at the Rochester Senior Center. Both Marion (Saturday morning) and Rochester fire departments hosted Nero’s Law training for multiple municipalities over the weekend. Nero was the K-9 dog for the Yarmouth Police Department, and his handler was Sergeant Sean Gannon, the son of Denise and Pat Gannon.
