Rochester Historical Society415 viewsMilitiamen Malcolm Phinney, Gary Franklin, and Jay Franklin performed an honor salute on October 2 at Woodside Cemetery as part of the Rochester Historical Society’s fall event debuting their Treasures of the Museum exhibit. Eagle Scout415 viewsWith help from volunteers, including members of Boy Scouts Troop 31, Noah Bellefeuille of Rochester directed the construction of two large picnic tables as his Eagle Scout project on June 1 at Old Colony Regional Vocational-Technical High School. Children learned how to load a musket, Boy Scouts Troop 31 demonstrated archery skills, visitors enjoyed live music and baked goods and those who ducked inside the 1857 East Rochester Church were treated to an amazing display of artifacts. Jimmy Fund413 views11-year-old Mary Roussell of Rochester put together an entertaining event that made a difference she helped organize a recent walk for the Jimmy Fund and cancer research. On Saturday, August 14, a number of walkers did laps for loved ones around Onset Island in Wareham. The kids raised nearly $400 in that hour of walking.
