Rochester Christmas Tree Lighting432 viewsRochester held its annual tree lighting on Monday night, December 7, in front of the Town Hall. Hundreds attended and greeted jolly old Saint Nick as he rode in on the town’s new yellow fire tower truck. New Year’s Eve Party432 viewsA New Year’s Eve party at the Rochester Senior Center gave area seniors the chance to ring in the New Year early in the company of friends. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly. Balloons dropped from the ceiling at 1:30 pm after a symbolic countdown to the New Year, and guests made a ruckus with noisemakers to welcome 2016. Photos by Jean Perry

Santa Arrives432 viewsThe Town of Rochester wasn’t able to host its traditional Christmas celebration this year, but the Fire Department made sure that Santa and Mrs. Claus and Sparky visited with children on Sunday outside Town Hall, where Board of Selectmen Chairman Paul Ciaburri presided over the lighting of the tree. Ciaburri was thrilled to report that the Christmas Angels, run by Lorraine Thompson with volunteers from the Council on Aging, the public library, local businesses, schools, and churches haven’t missed a beat.
