The pilots use charts provided by the United States Government to determine if the thickness of the ice is enough to support the weight of their airplanes. More than 40,000 dedicated Walkers showed their commitment to the cause by taking part in the event that raised a record-breaking $3.8 million. The Circus, which featured highflying aerial acts, animal acts and plenty of clowns played four shows under the big top during its two-day stay.
