RMS Basketball334 viewsIt was a pretty close game, 67-59, at Rochester Memorial School on January 23. It was the annual sixth grade vs. staff basketball game, and this year it was attended by a record crowd. $370 was raised for the Nurse Thayer Scholarship Fund. “It was a great event,” said RMS Principal Derek Medeiros. “It’s all about the engagement, and seeing all those people there was great.” Photos by Jean Perry

There were no star sightings, however Rochester resident Hilary Wood was able to get some photos of the action from her front yard, after the surprise of an Amish-driven horse and carriage caught her eye as it passed her window on Hartley Road. Hundreds attended and greeted jolly old Saint Nick as he rode in on the town’s new yellow fire tower truck. SouthCoast Working Dog Club334 viewsThe SouthCoast Working Dog Club held a three-day Schutzhund trial at the Rochester Country Fairgrounds on May 27-29. The event is a competition in training, tracking, obedience, and protection for working breeds of dogs.
