The pinewood derby is a tradition that was started back in 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California and persists to this day. Homecoming Queens 326 viewsColleen Oakes, originally from Marion, and Renee Buteyne, from Rochester, finished the trip of a lifetime on Monday, July 16, having ridden across the United States on their bicycles. Leaving Portland, Oregon on May 2, the two childhood friends arrived at Buteyne’s parents’ driveway about a month earlier than anticipated, greeted by family, friends, confetti, cookies, and of course, hugs. Grandparent's Day325 viewsIt was a perfect autumn day for the SouthCoast Senior Resource Alliance Grandparents Day at Hiller Farm in Rochester on September 19. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit!
