Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. Rochester Country Fair505 viewsThe Rochester Country Fair rolled into town on Thursday, August 18, filled the air with the sweet smells of Italian sausage and fried fair food, mixed with the smoke of diesel engines, and created that magical scent we all relish until the fair wrapped up on Sunday, August 21. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts. No-Shave November505 viewsCosmetology students at Old Colony gave five Rochester Police officers a shave and a haircut on November 30, marking the end of No-Shave November. The officers raised over $1,500 letting their facial hair grow out, a no-no for the rest of the year for the officers. The country fair committee held a tractor pull/swap fundraiser on April 29. Those who attended got an early taste of the sights, sounds, and smells of the Rochester Country Fair with dirt flying, engines blasting, and diesel smoke billowing up into the air. Cat Tails and Cocktails 505 viewsIt’s All About the Animals last Thursday held an invitation-only cocktail party to celebrate the opening of its new addition and “catio” (cats + screened-in patio= catio). The addition was dedicated to contractor Matthew Sherman, who passed away before completion of the project.
