New Year’s Eve Party386 viewsA New Year’s Eve party at the Rochester Senior Center gave area seniors the chance to ring in the New Year early in the company of friends. Guests enjoyed dinner and dessert followed by the sharing of New Year’s resolutions and non-alcoholic bubbly. The officers raised over $1,500 letting their facial hair grow out, a no-no for the rest of the year for the officers. Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race386 viewsIt rained, again, for the Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race on Monday, May 29, but that never stops the participants from paddling the 14 miles of the Mattapoisett River that winds from Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir in Snipatuit Pond in Rochester all the way to the Herring Weir in Mattapoisett off River Road and Route 6. The addition was dedicated to contractor Matthew Sherman, who passed away before completion of the project.
