It’s the holiday season in Rochester now that the tree is lit followed by the arrival of jolly old Saint Nick via fire engine on December 4 to usher in the holiday season. The Rochester Memorial School band and chorus treated revelers to a festive performance, while Christmas poster winner Tessa Winslow had the honor of flipping the switch to light the holiday tree. Pinewood Derby400 viewsCub Scouts Pack 30 held its annual Pinewood Derby on Saturday, January 13 at Rochester Memorial School. The pinewood derby is a tradition that was started back in 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California and persists to this day. 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair 400 viewsThe 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair was held on August 18 with a wide variety of produce, floral bouquets, baked goods, handicrafts, and works of art. The state first place winner for her diorama depicting a barn that contained fresh eggs and produce was Susan Guiducci of Dartmouth. There were a total of 35 entries vying for other blue ribbons in many other categories. Sue LaFluer, grange secretary and one of the fair organizers said that participants ranged in age from 6 years of age and beyond.

Tree Sales399 views'Tis the season, once more! On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 26, 2011, locals stopped by the Rochester Women's Clubhouse to pick up their fresh wreaths and trees. The proceeds from the sale helped the Rochester Women's Club purchase a new roof for their Clubhouse. The tree and wreath sale will continue on the weekends of December 3 and 4 and December 10 and 11 from noon to 2:00 pm.
